Konos Control is the Konos app for both microphones. Point it at a Konos on your network and you have the beam controls, the audio and a recorder - on the laptop, tablet or phone you already carry.

Control
Set the beam from your laptop, tablet or phone - four independent beams at 60°-300°, a steerable beam in 15° steps, or a matched stereo pair. Save the state to the mic and it survives a power cycle.
Monitor
Listen to the five-channel stream in the app - any beam channel, the Konos Select channel, or the stereo pair with its own left and right meters. Levels read in dB SPL with peak hold.
Record
Capture to disk from the app: every channel of the five-channel stream, or all 80 elements raw. Record for a set duration, or record until you stop.
On Konos Digital, Konos Control is also the capture client for the 80-channel raw output - you don't have to write a client to take every element off the array. One capture session at a time, and the five-channel stream stops while it runs.
Getting on air
Find it. Connect. Go.
A microphone you cannot reach is a microphone you cannot use. Konos Control listens for Konos units the whole time it is open, on whichever network you point it at - and takes a typed address when the network will not cooperate.
It finds the mic, not the other way round
Open the app and Konos units appear as they answer, usually in well under a second. There is no scan to wait out and no countdown - a mic that leaves the network simply drops off the list.
Either discovery mode
Konos Digital can advertise itself as RAVENNA or as NMOS. The app browses for both, so you do not have to know which one a mic is set to before you can reach it.
Or type the address
Direct Connect takes an IP or hostname when you are on a routed network, a locked-down VLAN, or anywhere discovery traffic does not travel.
Pick the right network
On a machine with several interfaces - Wi-Fi, wired, a USB adapter - you choose which one the app browses on, and it remembers. Konos 2 can also connect over USB on Windows and Android.
The app

- Control Beam
The same three modes the microphone names on its own panel - 4-Beam, Steerable, Stereo - and the controls for whichever one you pick: four vertical aperture faders with a front or rear lobe each, a touch aim pad for the steerable beam, or splay, width and orientation for the stereo pair. Output level runs ±36 dB in 6 dB steps.
- Listen Five channels
Pick a channel and hear it. Each one is captioned with the beam it is actually carrying right now, so CH 2 reads as the beam it is - not as a number you have to remember. Monitor volume is ±24 dB in 6 dB steps and is independent of the mic's own output level.
- 80 ch Raw capture
The capture client for every element on the array. Choose a fixed duration or run until you stop, and watch packet, loss and write-speed counters live while it records - so you know a take is clean before you strike the rig.
- Settings Network & clock
Device name, DHCP or a static address, AES67 stream ID and PTP domain, and the RAVENNA or NMOS choice. PTP lock, media clock and uptime read back on the same screen, and AES67 timing can be re-armed between takes without a reboot.
Recording
Record either stream.
No mixer, no DAW, no capture rig. Konos Control writes Konos Digital straight to the machine in your hand - the finished five-channel stream for production, or every element on the array for your own beamforming and research.

One stream or the other: while an 80-channel capture is running, the five-channel stream stops and live monitoring goes quiet until the capture ends. Recording the five-channel stream has no such catch - monitor it, record it, or do both at once. Both write plain WAV files that open in any audio editor - Audacity, Reaper, Pro Tools - with no converter and no plug-in.
